ITS-based New Mobility Services help to better integrate and manage urban transport and contribute to the development of collective systems for seamless multi-modal mobility (door-to-door). Open platforms and open data allow public and private service providers to develop and test innovative schemes that answer to user needs with regards to information, ticketing and planning of trips.
The New Mobility Services initiative was officially launched on 28 January 2016 and so far cities of Lyon and Birmingham lead efforts to replicate open-data urban mobility data set and Luxinnovation leads efforts to support regional innovation cluster building.
The main approaches of the New Mobility Services are the:
- Creation of political support for this initiative by signing the ‘declaration of commitment’ to new mobility service development
- Replication of tested mobility services innovation at large scale, in more than 50-cities and cooperation of regional innovation clusters as test beds for innovation
- Creation of a service exchange platform for real time car-pooling in 10-cities
- Development of local New Mobility Services Roadmap
If you are interested in joining the New Mobility Services initiative sign the Memorandum of Action that was launched on January and join the relevant webinars and physical meetings to get engaged in cooperation and replication. For more information click here.
