Europe will see more than half a million electric vehicles (EVs) on its roads by the end of 2016, as revealed by a study conducted by Transport & Environment (T&E), an organisation that campaigns for smarter, cleaner transport in Europe.

According to Julia Hildermeier from T&E, the electromobility revolution is underway and Europe is well placed to take a leading position. To fully grab this chance, Europe needs ambitious European CO2 limits, specific targets for EV sales, the expansion of EV charging infrastructure, the ban of diesels from the cities, as well as tax breaks for battery electric vehicles.
