23rd TAP Conference – 2020-2030: transport in critical transition

After the successful event organized in Zurich in 2017, this 23rd TAP conference will take place at 15-17 May 2019, in Thessaloniki, Greece. It is co-organized by the Labs of Applied Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer and Environmental Engineering of Aristotle University Thessaloniki and EMISIA SA with the support of the European Commission Joint Research Centre.

CEDR Conference discusses Modal Choice in a Multimodal Transport System

This European conference will wrap up CEDR’s Research Programme on “User Needs in a multimodal context”, in which Polis is involved as partner. The event will discuss new tools to understand the impact of new technologies, walking and cycling measures, on modal choice and on road safety and will take place on May 9 in Brussels, with a pre-conference evening event on May 8. Registration is free and open until 26 April.

October 2018, the 8th CMDTUR 2018 conference took place in Žilina

The conference is traditionally organized by the University of Žilina, the Department of Road and Urban Transport.
The conference focuses on the issues of road, urban transport and sustainable development.
This year was held under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, based in Bratislava, the State Chamber of the Maritime Economy and the Slovak-Polish Chamber of Commerce.
The CMDTUR is a forum for meetings, mutual exchanges of views and best practices between researchers and road and urban transport experts.

Delivering EU-wide multimodal travel information, planning and ticketing services – dream or reality?


Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc and the Directorate-General for Transport and Mobility (DG MOVE) are inviting stakeholders to take stock of the development of multimodal passenger transport. While passengers increasingly combine different transport modes, they face various difficulties regarding their passenger rights, route planning and the ticketing process. The conference will present the opportunity to discuss current challenges with representatives from the public and private sector – including passenger rights organisations - bearing in mind the advance of new technologies and the European legal framework on EU-wide Multimodal Travel Information Services.

Green cities for a greener future

EU Green Week; Green Cities for a Greener Future is taking place from 21-25th May and will explore ways in which the EU is helping cities to become better places to live and work. 
Showcasing policy developments on air quality, noise, nature and biodiversity, waste and water management, Green Week will promote participatory approaches to urban development, networking schemes, and tools for sharing best practices, engaging local authorities and citizens, and encouraging them to share their vision of a sustainable future.
Registration for participants for the EU Green Week conference in Brussels will be open from the 1st April.

Planning for Multimodal Cities

Registration has opened for the European Commission's 5th European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) on 14-15 May 2018 in Nicosia, Cyprus. This is Europe's leading annual event for all those involved in putting the SUMP concept into practice.
In line with the European Commission having dedicated the year 2018 to the promotion of multimodality, the theme of this year's conference is multimodality, with a focus on the integration of transport modes and combined mobility solutions for passengers and freight in cities and regions.

European Multimodal Freight Transport Conference

European Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc and Bulgarian Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski are inviting Ministers, Members of the European Parliament and key stakeholders for a high-level conference on European Multimodal Freight Transport, taking place in the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, on 20 March 2018.
It is expected to be a great opportunity for stakeholders to share knowledge and experience, and to discuss opportunities, needs and challenges for a seamless multimodal transport system in Europe. The event is organised as part of the 2018 Year of Multimodality.

4th Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility

This year’s conference of sustainable urban mobility is organized in Skiathos island on 24-25 May 2018 by the University of Thessaly, Department of Civil Engineering, Traffic, Transportation and Logistics Laboratory.

Intelligent Transport 2017

CZECHBUS, the specialized trade fair for buses and public transport, will be organised on 22.-24.11.2016 in Prague in Czech Republic
