Additional support for alternative fuels in Czech Republic

The Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic will support the construction of CNG filling stations for freight vehicles with 50 million CZK, LNG and hydrogen stations will follow.

By 2021, drivers in the Czech Republic should have available up to twenty new CNG filling stations for passenger and freight transport. Their construction will be supported by the Ministry of Transport from European funds, the Operational program Transport (OPD) can grant up to 50 million CZK. Accordingly to the Czech Minister of Transport, the Czech Republic is going quite well in the field of CNG filling stations for passenger cars, on the other hand there is a lack of CNG stations which would also allow the filling of freight vehicles. This grant program should change this status. The National Clean Mobility Action Plan, approved by the government in November 2015, talks about plan for 200 CNG filling stations in 2020. With the contribution of the grant program, achieving this goal is more than likely.
Besides CNG filling stations, the Ministry of Transport wants to support the construction of filling stations for LNG and hydrogen. In total, the Ministry of Transport has allocated 1.2 billion crowns for support of alternative fuels under the OPD.
